| Washington at Valley Forge by Edward Percy Moran (PC)
In December 1777, George Washington led the Continental Army to Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, for winter quarters during the American Revolutionary War. Facing harsh winter conditions lack of supplies, and low morale, Washington's leadership was
crucial in maintaining the army's cohesion. Despite the severe hardships, including inadequate food, clothing, and shelter, Washington's perseverance and the arrival of Baron von Steuben a Prussian military officer who trained the troops, transformed the army into a more disciplined and effective fighting force. |
