Settled out the back by Lester, Rodrigo cruised up to the leaders with just over a furlong to run and, when asked to quicken by the Maestro, he surged clear for a most emphatic victory, making history in the process. Subsequently successful in three more Group One events, The Irish Two Thousand Guineas, The Juddmonte International and the Dubai Champion Stakes, all under the Maestro, Rodrigo was retired to stud a champion.
