Second World War aviation art prints of the Breda 65 aircraft. Our collection of prints and original paintings of the Breda 65 aircraft of World War Two.
Followng on form the design of the Breda Ba.64 The Italian Breda Ba.65 Italian All Metal single seat Monoplane fighter was designed by Antonio Parano and Giuseppe Panzeri. It was designed to undertake roles in the air force as a fighter and also as a reconnaissance aircraft. The prototype first flew in September 1935. Production ceased in July 1939 after 218 aircraft were built by Breda and Caproni aircraft companies. Not only was it used by the Italian Aviazione Legionaria during the Spanish Civil War and Regia Aeronautica in the first part of the Second World War but atotal of 55 machines were exported and used by Iraqi, Portugal and Chilean air forces. The Ba.65 carried wing-mounted armament of two 12.7 mm and two 7.7 mm Breda-SAFAT machine guns, with internal bomb load of 200 kg (440 lb) and in addition could carry external bomb load of 1,000 kg (2,200 lb).of bombs.

Gloster Gladiators flown by Flt. Lt. M.T. Pattle and Flying Officer Johnny Lancaster surprise a flight of Breda 65s from 59A Squadriglia over Bit Taob El Essem, North Africa. Pattle went on to be top Commonwealth Air Ace of all time.
